Why Compliance Is the Foundation of Trust in AI

This certification helps organizations demonstrate that their AI systems are designed responsibly and can be audited, in the same way ISO 27001 has long provided assurance in information security.
ISO 42001: The First Global AI Management Standard
In addition, the European AI Act has already entered into force. Adopted in 2024, it is being implemented in phases over the coming years. The Act introduces a risk-based approach: low-risk applications, such as spam filters, face minimal obligations, while high-risk uses of AI in healthcare, HR processes, or critical infrastructure are subject to strict requirements. These include detailed documentation, explainability, and in many cases, human oversight. Some obligations, such as bans on unacceptable-risk AI systems, apply as early as 2025, while full compliance across all categories will be mandatory by 2026. Far from being only a regulatory burden, the AI Act creates an opportunity: organizations that prepare early can demonstrate accountability and build trust more effectively.
