During Dutch AI Week, we gained valuable insights into how larger organisations are progressing on their journey toward effective AI adoption. Representing Subduxion, Gijs van Loon and Tom Collaris spent the day engaging with leaders, innovators and academics who are actively shaping the future of applied AI in the Netherlands.

The event was excellently organised by Peter Brouwers, with strong contributions from Frans Feldberg, Ivana Nokolić and Willemijn van Oorsouw. Their perspectives added depth to discussions around strategy, governance and the practical realities of implementing AI within complex organisations.

Key themes from our conversations

Throughout the day, several recurring themes emerged in discussions with participating organisations:

  • Strategic direction: many companies are seeking clarity on where AI can create the highest value.

  • AI governance: there is a growing need for clear frameworks to innovate safely, responsibly and at scale.

  • AI literacy: teams increasingly want to understand how AI works, enabling better-informed decisions.

  • Cross-functional alignment: when IT, data and business teams operate from a shared vision, project success rates rise significantly. Turning AI from isolated experiments into true organisational capability.

Research shows that 23% of companies in the Netherlands report using AI technologies, well above the EU average of 13%. This indicates strong momentum, but also significant untapped potential.

Subduxion’s perspective

What became clear is that while most organisations recognise the importance of AI, many are still searching for the right place to start. This is precisely the gap we focus on bridging: guiding companies from insight and strategy to practical, deployed AI solutions that create measurable value.

Dutch AI Week was a strong reminder of the growing need for clarity, direction and real implementation power and that continues to be the space where Subduxion supports organisations every day.
