The exact material grade, standard and condition a part must be made from, not just a generic material name.

Definition

A material specification identifies the exact material a part must be made from: typically a standard designation (such as an ASTM, EN or DIN grade), sometimes a specific heat or lot, and often a condition (annealed, hardened, a particular temper). "Aluminum" or "steel" alone is not a material specification; 6061-T6 or 1.4404 is.
